The Staley Family

Today, we had to say good bye to the Staley family.  They have been missionaries here in Arequipa for 9 years now.  They are going back to the States now, they feel that the Lord is calling them back to work in a church back in the U.S.

Please pray for the Staley family, they have been a huge blessing here in Peru to so many people.  Pray that the Lord will open doors for them and that eveything will go great for them and their family.

It was hard to see them go, pray that the people here will understand their leaving and will continue to serve the Lord just has before or even better.

Mother´s Day

I would like to take a moment to say Happy Mother´s Day to all the mothers out there.  I thank the Lord for my mother, she was the mom and dad in our house and did so much to give us everything we needed.  I am so thankful for my wife, who is a wonderful mother to our 2 beautiful children, she loves and takes care of them like no other.  I also thank the Lord for my mother in law, for raising such a wonderful daughter, for being so sweet and accepting me as a son and being such a good example and helping me in every way possible.

God is so good.

Our Children

Yesterday morning, Lelia had was put under general anesthesia to be able to work on her mouth (teeth).  She had a dead nerve caused from the fall she had over a year ago.  After an hours work they were done and she started to come through.  She is now on an antibiotic and is doing fine.

Once done at the doctor´s office yesterday we rushed to our son, Benjamin´s school for an activity they had for Mother´s Day.  We barely made it, as we walked in the door Benjamin was standing on the platform about to sing his special with his class.  We were glad we were able to make it in time to hear him sing all dressed up and handsome.

We are so thankful for our children, they are definitely a blessing from the Lord.  Pray that they will grow up to do great things for the Lord and pray that we may be the parents we are supposed to be.

Pastor Richard Roca

Today, we had the honor of having Pastor Richard Roca and his family over to our house to eat lunch.  We had a great time just talking and sharing all the blessings the Lord as poured over our families.

Please pray for his ministry, he is Pastor of ¨Paucarpata¨ Baptist Church, there are about 45 - 50 people attending and the Lord is blessing in mighty ways.  Also, pray for his wife, she is 5 months pregnant and was in the hospital last week with kidney problems.

Pray that the Lord will continue to raise up pastors and leaders to be able to spread the Word around the world for His honor and glory.

My Dear Wife

As I have let you know, our children have been sick with the flu and it has now hit my dear wife.  This morning she woke up with a sore throat, eyes burning, head hurting and all of her body aching.

Please pray for her that she may recover quickly.  As all of you men know, our wives are the ones that keep us and the house going.  It definitely isn´t the same when they are sick and can´t do things like normal.

I have been blessed with a wonderful wife that is always there for me, working hard all the time and is always willing to help others.

Thank you for your prayers once again.

Internet Problems

We just wanted to write and let you know, we are alive and ok.  We are soooo sorry for not writing and letting you know how things are in the last week.  We didn´t have internet for a week or so.

We are still here alive and working.  The children are sick with the flu and all that fun stuff.  It is REALLY starting to get cold here now and our house is extremely cold  It doesn´t get any sun at all during the day because of a big building they built right by us, that covers us up completely from the sun.

We are looking into buying a small gas heater to try to help out with the cold.  Pray that we can find one and that it is at a reasonable price.

We will continue to let you know how everything goes during the week and hopefuly from now on out without any problems, now that the internet and everything is fixed.

Thanks for all your prayers and support.

Report on Lelia

We have such a good God. It sure is true that the sun comes out after the storm. Yesterday, after almost being scared to death, not knowing what was wrong with our daughter and then finding out and being scared of what was going to happen. God took care of her like always and got her through it.

It is amazing how fast children recover and start acting normal. Yesterday, after her nap, she woke up still a little dizzy but a little after being up and moving, she started acting normal. We went to church and then she had a good nights sleep and is completely back to herself today.

We are so thankful for how God is always there for us, taking care of us, supplying our needs and so much more, even when we don´t deserve it.

Thank each and every one of you that have been praying for us and calling to find out how things are going.

God Bless,

Pray for our Daughter Lelia…

We want to ask you to please be in prayer for Lelia. This morning she went to my mom’s house and while there without anyone seeing she took 2 or 3 of my mom’s sleeping pills.

After a while she started acting a little weird, all drugged up and drunk, we couldn’t figure out why she was acting like that. So my wife called her dad, Bro. Austin, and asked what he thought it could be, since he is always our family doctor. We then called our close friend doctor Benavente and he told us to take her immediately to the hospital. While waiting on the taxi to take us we found the pills out and asked her if she had taken them and she said yes.

We rushed to the hospital and they put a long thin tube down her nose and drained everything out of her stomach. Of course, she she screamed and cried like crazy and broke our hearts. After all that fun, the pediatrician saw her and said she could go home but had to stay awake for 2 more hours and drink a LOT of liquid and we are supposed to call him back at 5 to inform him how she is doing.

Thank God she is doing better, she is still a little drunk and can’t walk well but she is acting better. We will inform you on how everything keeps going.

Thanks for all your love and prayers.

Church Member Grieving

Please be in prayer for Walter Mesa, member of Faith Baptist Church, his mother passed away yesterday morning. He is a great man, that loves the Lord and is doing great things for Him. He is definitely a soul winner and a one that disciples others.

Last night we went by to see the family and today we went to the funeral. It was sad to see so many of his family members sitting there without hope. The good thing about all this is that, Bro. Walter took advantage that all his family would be gathered together and he had Bro. Raul Garcia, preach a short message about salvation.

Please pray for Bro. Walter as we all know it is a difficult time, when someone looses a family member. Pray that through this time some of his family may come to know the Lord as their Savior.

God Bless,

Julio Soncco
